EU Green Week is Europe's biggest annual conference on environment policy, bringing together participants from government, industry, non-governmental organisations, academia and the media, among others, for a unique exchange of ideas and best practices. EU Green Week 2019 will take place from 13-17 May with the theme, ‘Take the initiative! Applying environmental legislation’.
EU Green Week is a European event. Therefore, as well as the high-level conference in Brussels, other events are organised in the Member States by a variety of different stakeholders. Your organisation or network can also take part and show your achievements and work in relation to EU environmental policies to a wider audience.
Are you or your network members organising an event between 13 April and 9 June? Is it relevant to the EU Green Week 2019 theme?
If so, then consider registering it as an EU Green Week partner event.
Events do not have to focus exclusively on laws and policies. Your event could focus, for example, on what your environmental policies have achieved, their positive impacts on people, cities, nature, businesses and so forth. It could look at solutions that have been found to encourage improvements in situations where implementation was historically problematic. An event might highlight the sharing of best practices, capacity building or positive peer pressure and voluntary schemes, or it could look at the need to embed sustainability into other policy areas such as agriculture, transport, the energy sector and so on. It might even focus on a perceived need for better governance, or on how citizens could be better involved. Or indeed it could be more forward-looking, and examine how the next generation thinks we should look after our environment.
